Angela Raiola, otherwise known as “Big Ang,” passed away after a year-long battle with throat cancer. Her Instagram reported her official passing early in the morning on Feb. 17.
The “Mob Wives” star had recently appeared on Dr. Oz and discussed the state of her health, revealing that doctors had only given her a 30% chance of survival from her stage 4 throat cancer. Ang also had revealed that not only was the cancer in her throat, but it had spread to her lungs and brain as well.
Though she made a vow to remain positive, she did express her fears over dying so soon and leaving behind her children and grandchildren.
“Sometimes I feel like I’m going to be fine and sometimes I just don’t think I am,” Ang revealed to Dr. Oz.
Around 3:01 AM ET on Thursday, February 18th, 2016, a family member confirmed via Twitter that Ang had passed away. She was 55-years-old.
