Picture this: Kerry Washington and Hilary Clinton. Epic, right?
On Monday night, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary stopped by the set of “Scandal,” and the whole cast and crew couldn’t help but fangirl over the former United States senator, all while documenting it on Instagram.
A number of “Scandal” stars have been bold about their support for Clinton. Tony Goldwyn campaigned for Clinton during the Nevada primary last week. Washington and Scott Foley, who plays Jake, showed their support by using Clinton’s campaign hashtag, #ImWithHer in their Instagram photo captions.
“So, this happened while I was directing tonight. No big deal. #imwithher.” – Scott Foley
“A good friend came by set today. Proud to say… #imwithher.” – Kerry Washington
Goldwyn, also known as Fitz, referred to Clinton as the “ultimate #Gladiator” on Twitter and thanked her for visiting their “alternate universe,” after her visit.
The show, now in its fifth season almost foreshadows its support for Clinton in the storyline. For the first half of the season, President Fitzgerald Grant is in charge of the Oval Office, but the second half of the season current first lady Mellie Grant will be campaigning for the presidency.
Art imitating life, maybe?
