Dante Fowler was the third pick in the 2015 NFL draft. A short time after that he tore his ACL on the first day of mini camp, causing him to miss the entire 2015-2016 season. So instead of being known for his plays on the field, he’s been linked to a not so flattering fight video, that has caused the NFL to investigate.

TMZ Sports got their hands on what looks like security footage of two women fighting in the parking lot of a Florida apartment complex on Feb. 1. As the two women fought, Fowler stepped to the side and seemed to yell out a few things (there’s no audio) before eventually breaking up the fight. TMZ Sports have confirmed that the women in the video are his current girlfriend and the mother of his child.

NFL spokesperson, Brian McCarthy told TMZ sports “These are disturbing images,” and the NFL is currently investigating this video.

Following the release of the short version of the video, Fowler and the Jags released separate statements.

Dante Fowler stated:

“I am embarrassed and have apologized for my actions to everyone involved. As a family, we have been dealing with this moment and the conflict that led to it since this occurred. The video surfacing is a sad reminder that emotions got the best of all of us. I take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happened.”

The Jags followed up the following:

“Dante brought the incident to our attention prior to the video being released and was embarrassed and remorseful. Violence of this type against others is unacceptable in our society and to our organization. We will continue to look into the incident while offering resources and providing support to Dante and his family to help them through this private matter.”

No criminal charges have been filed since there was no police called or police report filed following the fight.
