ABC’s hit family sitcom, Black-ish is the new Cosby Show. It gives the audience a fresh perspective of what it’s like for successful African Americans that are raising their kids in a mostly all white suburbia. Last night (Feb 24), the episode tackled a reality that African Americans still have to deal with in 2016, racism and police brutality.

Even though Black-ish has been known to tackle tough subjects like the n-word, this episode about police brutality and racism in America is a tough reality that most African Americans have to face talking to their children about. In the episode titled, Hope, the family tackles real life subjects like Tamar Rice, police indictments, and protests. Even though the show is fiction, this subject matter is very real and often discussed in many African American homes, so ofcourse Black Twitter had an emotional reaction to the episode.
