Prince is about to have you working up a black sweat. The singer-songwriter and icon is set to begin throwing surprise concerts all over North America and yours could be next.
The first North American date of his Piano and Microphone tour will be Feb.28th at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA. He is set to play two back to back shows, one at 7pm and the other at 10pm. He will revisit all his hits as well as tracks from his 39th studio album, “HITnRUN Phase II”.
During a performance in Australia at the Arts Center Playhouse, Prince dedicated his set to Denise “Vanity” Matthews-Smith, his protege, who died Feb.15th. “I am new to playing alone,” he said. “I thank you all for being so patient.”
Tickets for the Oakland performances range in prices from $99 to $275 ad go on sale at noon on Wednesday, Feb 24th via Ticketmaster. In an effort to ward off scalpers, the promoter Live nation is using paperless tickets. People who purchase tickets will only be allowed to redeem their tickets in person the night of the show using an ID and the credit card used to purchase and must enter the venue at the time they present the above items.
