Creed director Ryan Coogler is set to bring a new drama to the small screen real soon. Teaming up with Destin Daniel Cretton and accomplished playwright Chinaka Hodge for a new drama based on Coogler’s experience growing up in the East Bay, and Cretton who is residential foster care work. Along with Hodge’s 15-year history of working with Bay Area children, the trio paired up with production company Macro to bring Minors to tv.
According to Variety, Minors will “tackle institutionalization in a unique and fresh way” by exploring how these facilities impact children over the course of a 12-month period. While Hodge will lead the writing team for the prospective series, Coogler and Cretton will share directing duties.
Following the critical and commercial success of Creed, the next new film we will see from Coogler will be Marvel’s forthcoming Black Panther, due in 2018.
