What’s beef?  Apparently, New York rappers know.  Joey Bada$$ and Troy Ave exchanged some words and diss tracks via social media, early this morning.

It all began when Bada$$ mentioned Troy on a verse in his recent single “Ready,” saying, “My nigga Kirk just outsold Troy Ave.”

Troy then took shots back at Joey by dropping a record titled “Bad Ass” on Soundcloud, where he not only accused Joey of not getting radio play, but also called him a “filthy backpack rapper.”

In addition to name calling, he even referenced the suicide of Capital Steez (a member of Joey’s clique, Pro Era) who committed suicide in 2012, saying  “Don’t be suicidal like your friend in the casket/Steez burning in hell.”

Bada$$ responded in a tweet, saying:

The two have always had beef due to competition over record sells and radio play, with each one accusing the other of being fake and lackluster.
