Beyonce is revealing her personal inspirations and her artistic outlets besides music in a rare personal interview with Garage Magazine.

Beyonce leaves a lot of mystery when it comes to her inner most thoughts and desires, she usually leaves it all in the music. But in an interview with Garage Magazine, Beyonce let’s her fans get a little peek as to what’s really going through her head. She covers the magazine in various artistic painting poses and discusses her love of painting and photography. “I find myself most drawn to painting and photography. There’s a release and an immediacy there that helps me escape from my other projects,” said Beyonce. “My mother is a huge art collector and she always encouraged me from a young age to invest in art.” She would go on to say, “I travel a lot and I love going to art galleries and museums in different cities with my family and friends.”

Beyonce also talks about her biggest hero being her mother and her proudest moment being giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy. She also speaks about how she has bossed up and taken control of her artistry. She says:

Over time, I have learned to focus on the things I want to focus on in the time frame that I set, I no longer have to work based on someone else’s expectations or pressure. I put enough pressure on myself! I love being 100-percent involved with all my projects and now I’m fortunate enough to do that.

Maybe that’s where the inspiration for “Formation” came from. Well Slay Bey! Slay!
