With only 4 seconds left and a tied game of 74-74. Villanova player, Kris Jenkins, took the tie breaking 3 pointer shot that won the close game for the Villanova Wildcats.
The game winning three pointer shot at the buzzer is actually the first in national championship history. The shot gave Villanova their second national championship since 1985. When the game was over Kris was asked if he knew he would make the shot and he replied via CNN, “I think every shot is going in, so that one was no different.” He also spoke about,Ryan Arcidiacono, who gave him the game winning assist. “Ryan Arcidiacono, he’s one of the best players I’ve ever played with,” Jenkins said via CNN. “For a senior to get the ball and make the right play and not try to shoot the ball in double coverage just shows a lot about him and what he’s about and how he’s just all about winning.”
Congrats to Villanova!
