Well, this is awkward… Fans and critics alike have basically called the newest G.O.O.D. Music signee, Desiigner a carbon copy of Atlanta rapper, Future. Desiigner added fuel to the fire by performing an unreleased single called “Pluto,” which happens to be the name of Future’s debut album.
Nevertheless, Billboard has discovered that Desiigner‘s breakout song “Panda” that is currently sitting at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, has charted higher than any solo Future record has EVER. The highest Future has ever charted is number 28, that was for “Where Ya At” and “Low Life.”
I think a large part of “Panda” charting so high has a lot to do with Kanye West. Most people’s first introduction to “Panda” was on Kanye’s recent album The Life Of Pablo. The first half of “Panda” can be heard on the song called “Pt. 2.” Hopefully this won’t turn into some type of fan/industry made beef, you know, sometimes fans have a “there can be only one” mentality with artists’ sounds and style. Congrats to the kid, Desiigner!
