It’s really happening. Five time  NBA championship winner and legendary basketball player, Kobe Bryant is retiring and will be playing his last game against the Utah Jazz Wednesday (April 13) night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Since west coast rapper, Kendrick Lamar grew up watching Kobe, he had to pay tribute to the baller in a special video called “Fade to Black.”

The tribute video, which was written by Scoop Jackson and performed by Kendrick Lamar, features classic moments of the Mamba making slam dunks, winning championships, and making those impossible shots look so easy. Kendrick Lamar is shown in the video speaking very powerful words about the the LA. Laker. “So I ask, how do empires last when there’s no longer an emperor?,” said Kendrick Lamar. “I mean we got you and at the same time we got YOU, I’m talking about your blood, your sweat, your tears, even your DNA is placed in these LA concretes.”

The game and the people will definitely miss the one and only Kobe Bryant.
