Rihanna is finally getting a documentary and she deserves it. A film following the singer’s life is in the works from producer/director Peter Berg, who directed Rih in 2012’s Battleship.
Berg described the project as “an unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon,” that’s “much more a character study than a music film.” Berg also runs the movie and TV production company Film 44. He recently launched the company to focus on non-scripted entertainment and the Rihanna doc is one of its first projects.
The project is reportedly styled after one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most iconic documentaries, D.A. Pennebaker’s 1967 Bob Dylan film, Don’t Look Back. To get an idea of what to expect check out a trailer to Don’t Look Back below.
