Michael Strahan, hall of fame football player and Fox football analyst, will be joining ABC’s Good Morning America on a full-time basis starting in September.
Strahan will be leaving Live with Kelly and Michael to begin this new venture. Strahan told the Hollywood Reporter:
“I look forward to continuing to work with the incredible team at GMA. It is an exciting opportunity to be able to bring unique stories and voices to the audience.”
This announcement isn’t much of a surprise though as Strahan has been making two appearances per week on GMA since 2014. ABC News president Goldston said in a memo to his staff:
“Michael has been a stellar addition to the broadcast. Over the past two years on GMA, he’s proven to be a tireless and versatile broadcaster with an incredible ability to connect with people, from veterans to American pop culture icons and newsmakers.”
Although Strahan is leaving Live with Kelly and Michael, he will remain with Fox as a football analyst.
