It’s almost that time of year for the XXL Freshmen cover to be revealed. A spot on the historic hip-hop magazine’s freshmen cover used to be a coveted position by most MC’s in Hip-Hop. But one rapper, Tory Lanez, is letting people know that he was not interested with being on the cover.

Toronto rapper, Tory Lanez, has had a great year. Despite controversial beef with the six god, Drake, Lanez had a hit record in his song,”Say It,” and his mixtape The New Toronto was making waves. One would think after having his name buzzing all year that a spot on the XXL Freshmen cover would be welcomed. But it looks like Lanez is living up to what he told Dj Drama in an interview about not wanting to be on the cover because he feels like he’s not a freshmen. “I don’t want it,” Tory told DJ Drama. “I’m not a freshmen and honestly the amount of times they tried me at that building, I don’t want it.” Tory also recently tweeted that he passed on the XXL freshmen, not the other way around, so people won’t be confused.
