Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Demarcus Lawrence is potentially facing a four-game ban from the NFL, per a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The report indicated that Lawrence failed a drug test, and the news was passed on to the Cowboys. This would lead to a four-game ban for the 24-year-old, who plans to appeal the ban. The league has previously fined Lawrence four game checks for a violation of its substance-abuse policy, making a suspension the next priority.
Lawrence was picked in the second round of the 2014 draft, having a breakout season last year. He appeared in all 16 games, totaling 13 starts while recording a team-best eight sacks.
The team will already be without defensive end Randy Gregory, who was suspended for a substance-abuse-policy violation in February.
