Undoubtedly, Tupac was someone that was ahead of his time. In a 1992 interview with MTV the late rapper discusses the issues with capitalism in America. Pac also shared that there is an emphasis in America to idolize business owners like Donald Trump in order to be successful.
“You get taught that from school, everywhere. Big business, if you want to be successful, you wanna be like Trump? Gimme, gimme, gimme. Push, push, push, push. Step, step, step. Crush, crush, crush…Now America’s got jewels and they paid, and they lending money to everybody except us.”
In addition, Tupac mentioned that wealthy people should be helping out the less fortunate in order for them to become self-sufficient. “Everybody needs a little help on their way to being self-reliant. Everybody needs a little something to become independent. No independent person just grew up and was born independent.”
