Yes, there is a Transformers 5 (tentative title) movie in the works. The Carmichael Show’s Jerrod Carmichael is close to saying “yes” and joining Mark Wahlberg and the cast of “Transformers 5.”

According to Complex, sources close to the production have confirmed talks to the Wrap. Paramount has declined to confirm or deny this information.

Director Michael Bay has confirmed that he is set to direct Transformers 5. He also swore to Rolling Stone that this “is [his] last one.” Bay also assured that this will not be the last Transformers movie. He plans to offer a variety of sequels and spin-offs based on characters from the franchise.

The first spin-off will revolve around the life and times of Bumblebee. It is currently on track for a 2018 release. “There are characters in the Transformers universe that can be and should be made into their own movies,” Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey told the Hollywood Reporter in February. “We will make the first movie with Michael and go right into a Bumblebee movie, which will be at a lower cost.”

Hopefully, Carmichael will get a piece of the spin-off action if he says yes to Transformers 5. He can be seen in the upcoming Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.
