If there was a cup for Prince tributes, it would runeth over, from Usher to Bruce Springsteen to the cast of Hamilton.

Last night, D’Angelo paid tribute to the icon on last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Black Messiah singer was very vocal about the influence Prince had him since the very beginning. In interviews, he always stated how he wanted to write, produce and preform all his own material, just like Prince. In 1997, he covered Prince’s “She’s Always In My Hair” for the Scream 2 soundtrack.
