Views marks Drake‘s sixth number one album, and his seventh proper release overall. The only project of his that didn’t hit number one was 2009’s So Far Gone, which peaked at number 6. (It was his first project and had already been available for free, so that’s understandable.)
Views was streamed a record 245.1 million times in the U.S. in its first week, which beats the previous record set by Justin Bieber’s Purpose (at just over 100 million.) As every 1,500 streams equals one album sold now, this equated to an additional 163,392 in sales, making the total number for the week 1.04 million!
