Beyonce’s sixth studio album Lemonade has earned Tidal 1.2 million new subscribers. The album was released on Tidal April 23 and has been streamed 306 million times since the release. Reportedly, about 75% of those streams (229 million) are from the United States.
Currently, it is unclear the total number of subscribers Tidal has at the moment but they are in competition with other streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify. Back in March, Tidal claimed to have 3 million subscribers while Spotify had 30 million subscribers and Apple Music had 13 million subscribers. In February, when Kanye West released The Life of Pablo on Tidal, it was announced that Tidal subscribers increased from 1 million to 2.5 million. It seems that the exclusive releases are really benefitting Tidal.
