J Dilla’s album The Diary was supposed to be his major label debut that found him rapping over beats produced by top shelf producers. Unfortunately, after his untimely death, his project was stored away for over 15 years. But thanks to the hard work of his peers, the album has been completed as close to Dilla’s vision as possible and is now seeing the light of day.

In a new documentary from Mass Appeal, we get an inside look into the creation of Dilla’s long lost album.
