NBA player, J.R. Smith apparently really loves the game “NBA 2k.” He loves the game so much that his fadeaway three-pointer is inspired by the game.
After the Cleveland Cavalier lost to the Toronto Raptors in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Smith and Lebron James answered post game questions together in the press room. Somehow the questions led to the origin of Toronto Raptor, Bismack Biymobo’s finger wag, which is from former NBA player Dikembe Mutombo. This led to Lebron admitting that they all draw inspiration from somewhere.
“We all took something from somebody,” said Lebron. “If I shoot a fadeaway I got it from MJ [Michael Jordan]. Throw a no-look pass, got it from Magic [Johnson].”
Then Lebron would point to J.R. and say he doesn’t know where Smith gets the fadeaway three shots from. After a pause Smith laughs and says “2k.”
I wonder what other video games Smith draws inspiration from.
