DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors just knew that LeBron James was going to be guarding him in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. According to Cleveland.com sources, DeRozan felt he needed to be extra prepared so he stayed in the Air Canada Centre until 1am. What was he doing? Over two and half hours of additional work and nearly 1,000 extra shots.
Despite the word on the street, DeRozan denies those claims and shot down rumors that he took on extra preparation to take on LeBron. DeRozan tell Cleveland.com that this behavior is nothing new for him, “It’s nothing new for me. You can ask anybody in this organization. There’s not a night that I don’t come back in the gym and try to work on something and get better on something. It’s nothing new.”
After the overtime loss to the Calvaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Kyle Lowry was seen practicing solo late night in the gym until after 1am.
Whatever the Raptors are doing, they should keep it up. No one predicted they would make it this far.
