Troy Ave is currently facing attempted murder and weapons possession charges after last week’s unfortunate shooting at Irving Plaza. The 33-year-old Brooklyn rapper was scheduled to appear before a judge this week to face his fate, but because he was shot as well, the date is pushed back as he recovers from surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Initial reports state that Troy shot himself in the leg in the melee, but it’s now rumored that there was a scuffle with someone who had the gun first, and it was that person who had hit both Troy and his now-deceased bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.
As of now, officials believe Troy shot five rounds in all and are waiting for ballistics results to charge him with murder. Such a sad situation all around.
