Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been hospitalized and is being treated for a respiratory issue, according to family spokesman Bob Gunnell.
Gunnell released the statement on Tuesday, saying, “He is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition. A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy.”

The statement released was datelined from Phoenix, Arizona, where Ali currently lives.
The 74-year-old Ali, who also suffers from Parkinson’s disease, was hospitalized twice between late 2014 and early 2015 with a severe urinary tract infection, which was initially diagnosed as pneumonia.
