New Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni has signed a three-year contract worth approximately $15 million with a team option in the fourth year.

D’Antoni’s contract is similar to new New York Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek’s, who signed a three-year, $15 million deal on Wednesday. Hornacek, however, does not have a team option for a fourth year.

Rockets star James Harden expressed his excitement for D’Antoni’s hire Wednesday on teammate Jason Terry’s Sirius XM radio show.

“I’m excited about the opportunity,” Harden said. “I’ve been hearing great things about him, what he brings to our team. Obviously, our assistant coaches [Jeff Bzdelik and Roy Rogers] as well. A new beginning, and I’m excited about the opportunity.”
