Rapper Freddie Gibbs was scheduled to perform Thursday (June 2) in Paris, but instead was arrested on charges of rape from an incident that allegedly happened a year ago in Austria.
On Friday he attended a hearing and is currently being held “pending extradition to Austria.” His lawyer, Scott Leemon (who is also representing Troy Ave in his separate case) said the following:
“Freddie Gibbs adamantly denies the allegations that have been levied against Austrian authorities. It makes you wonder why it took almost a year for Austrian officials to bring these charges. Freddie will be fighting the extradition request as these are nothing more than trumped up charges. For any additional information please contact email@example.com.”
