On June 3rd, we lost the greatest boxer of all time and one of the greatest athletes to ever live, Muhammad Ali, at age 74. Since his passing, there as been a massive outpouring of condolences honoring the late, great Ali. In 1999, Sports Illustrated named him “Sportsman of the Century” and had an incredible record of 56-5 with 37 knockouts. Because of his massive success in the ring, he was affectionally and appropriately nicknamed “The Greatest.”
Outside of the boxing ring, he was known for always speaking his mind, his activism and devout religious beliefs. He held close ties with Malcolm X, Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam. Ali was also famously known for the trash talk he would spew against his opponents most notably his rivalry with boxing legends George Foreman, Joe Frazier and Sonny Liston.
