The show must go on! Hot 97 experienced some hurdles during this year’s Summer Jam, but still managed to give fans a night to remember. Due to severe thunderstorms in the area, the festival stage was cancelled completely and the main show was pushed back three hours. Unfortunately, Tinashe, Young Thug, and Kid Ink’s performance were cut due to time constraints, but the show went on strong.

To kick off the show Brooklyn rappers, Maino and Uncle Murda hit the summer jam stage performing a few songs from Yellow Tape: King Kong & Godzilla mixtape. Maino then performed a remix of Shawty Lo’s “Dey Know” and then his hit “Hi Hater.”

Up next was the G.O.O.D. music family and they had the whole stadium on their feet. G.O.O.D. music started off their set with their new track “Champions.”  They also performed classics such as “Mercy,” “I Don’t Like,” and “Clique.” Each member also got a chance to a perform a few hits of their own, Big Sean performed “I Don’t F*** With You” and 2 Chainz performed “Watch Out.” Travis Scott took us to the Rodeo with “Antidote,” Pusha T took us back to his Clipse days with “Grindin,” Kanye gave us a dash of Pablo with “Famous” and “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” and Desiigner shut down their set with “Panda.”

The show slowed down when the Louisville native, Bryson Tiller came to serenade the ladies.  Bryson Tiller performed “Sorry Not Sorry” and then bought out Fabolous to do his remix verse. All while videos of the late Muhammed Ali (who is also from Louisville) played on the screen. Fabolous also gave the crowd a snippet of his Summertime Shootout mixtape. Bryson then finished off his set with “Exchange” and “Don’t.”

The Terror Squad reunion took us all the way up.  Fat Joe started the set off with “New York” and then Remy Ma performed “Whatever” and “Conceited.” Fat Joe also performed “Make It Rain” and brought out special guest Ashanti to perform “What’s Love.” French Montana joined the Terror Squad to perform their summer smash “All The Way Up.”  They ended their set with paying homage to the late Big Pun and brought out special guest Joe to perform “Still Not A Player.”

That pretty boy Flacko was next to grace the Summer Jam stage and performed songs from his latest project At Long.Last.A$AP. Then the rest of the A$AP Mob joined on stage to perform “Yamborghini” in memory of A$AP Yams. A$AP Ferg performed his hit “Work,” “Shabba,” and of course “New Level.”

The last act of the night was DJ Khaled and friends. Khaled certainly did not disappoint with his set. Khaled started out with his anthem “All I Do Is Win” and brought Rick Ross to perform “Pop That” and “B.M.F.” Then Khaled brings Yo Gotti to perform his hit “Down In The DM.” Khaled also brought out O.T. Genasis to perform “Coco” and “Cut It.”  M.O.P. comes on stage to perfrom “Antey Up” and brings out Busta Rhymes.  Khaled then takes us to Jamaica with special guest Mavado to perform “Gangsta 4 Life” and “I’m So Special.” Ty Dolla $ign comes out to sing “Blasé.” New artist Kent Jones join the Summer Jam stage and sang his hit “Don’t Mind.” Finally, the Lox hit the stage and performed “We Gonna Make It” and “I Get High.”

Usher, Chance The Rapper, and Future were supposed to perform as well but due to the venue’s curfew everything had to be shut down. Summer Jam 2016 was epic in every sense of the word. Don’t ever play yourself! Check out photos and videos below.
