For the second year in a row “Black-ish” stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross will hos the BET Awards. The on-screen husband and wife duo are also both nominees for “Best Actor” and “Best Actress” among this year’s BET Award contenders.
“I can’t wait to host the BET Awards again with Anthony, who I always have a blast working with,” Ross said in a statement. “The BET Awards is going to knock it out of the park again with a night full of amazing performances and presenters being honored in music, movies, television, and sports.”
Drake, leads nominations this year with nine thanks to “Hotline Bling” and his collaborations with Future and Rihanna. Rihanna & Beyoncé have five each.
Fans are anticipating the tribute to Prince who died in April. BET’s President of Programming Stephen Hill ensured fans that it will be done correct and with respect. Prefromers haven’t been named yet, but BET is expected to make that annoucement soon.
The show will air live on Sunday, June 26 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. EST.
