In the latest Yeezy news, a woman was arrested over the weekend after a mob of Yeezy fans gathered at Webster Hall in New York City for a 2:00 a.m. G.O.O.D. Music pop-up show.
Following the cancelation of his Governors Ball performance on Sunday, Kanye West was seen performing at Summer Jam 2016 at MetLife Stadium, during the G.O.O.D. Music set. With the hype surrounding a long awaited G.O.O.D. Music reunion, ‘Ye announced a last minute show for fans at Webster Hall. Due to the pandemonium of fans, under the orders of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, the city shut the show down, resulting in the arrest of one woman.
Lauren Epstein told the New York Daily News the 16 hours of jail was not worth it for ‘Ye. “Maybe Beyoncé would be, but not this,” said Epstein. The only person arrested following the fan frenzy, the 26-year-old restaurant manager says she was out with friends when someone yelled that Kanye was on his way. Cops were reported to have told fans the show was canceled and to leave the scene. Epstein says she didn’t hear the authorities and decided to meet up with friends at a nearby bar when she was arrested.
Epstein definitely didn’t see the night as a God dream, especially since she doesn’t even “even, like, love [Kanye].” According to the Daily News, Epstein agreed to a conditional dismissal deal, saying that walking around with an open container of alcohol is “likely the reason” for her overnight arrest.
Yeezy’s wifey, Kim Kardashian, took to Instagram to apologize to fans, letting them know a future show is in the works.
