The sports world has taken another loss in the death of legendary mixed martial arts fighter Kimbo Slice.

The 42 year old fighting champion died of a heart attack just days after the loss of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. He rose to fame after his fighting videos went viral on YouTube.

After reports surfaced early Monday that the fighter had been admitted to the hospital in dire condition, the boxer later succumbed to what was later reported as a heart attack.

In a statement to TMZ Sports, Bellator MMA”s CEO had this say of the legend:

“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family. One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.”
