What happened at Pulse nightclub in Orlando touched the hearts of Broadway’s biggest stars so much that they decided to sing an emotional tribute to the victims.
Broadway Records President, Van Dean, partnered with SiriusXM Radio host Seth Rudetsky and producer James Wesley to create a rendition to touch the lives of the victims involved in the shooting:
“The Broadway community was so terribly shaken and devastated by the horrific tragedy in Orlando. Everyone wanted to do something as quickly as possible that would truly make a difference.”
Broadway stars gathered together on June 15 in Avatar Studios to record an emotional tribute entitled “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”
Whoopi Goldberg, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gloria Estefan, Wayne Brody, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosie Perez are a few of the actors who sang in this as well.
The record is on sale for $1.99 at Broadway Records and iTunes. All proceeds will be going to The Center, an LGBT advocacy organization.
