Prince’s legacy will never die, the world will make damn sure of that.

The tributes and performances continue to roll in, showing appreciation for the late icon. The latest comes from Prince’s very own backing band, The Revolution. They are set to play two shows in Minnealopis at First Avenue on September 2nd & 3rd. The venue hold great significance as it was featured heavily in the 1984 film Purple Rain.

The Guardian has reported that the shows will inclucd appearances by  guitarist Wendy Melvoin, keyboard player Lisa Coleman, bassist BrownMark, keyboard player Doctor Fink and drummer Bobby Z, guitarist Dez Dickerson, and bassist André Cymone.

As for what inspired the band to preform, it was the outpouring of love Princd received outside of First Avenue and around the world, “After seeing the response outside of First Avenue and around the rest of the world’s monuments, we, as the Revolution have decided to pay tribute to Prince at home in the city of Minneapolis.”
