Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested on suspicion of assault Sunday in Michigan, according to court records. East Lansing police arrested Green on a misdemeanor assault and battery charge at 2:28 am Sunday. Green was released on a $200 bond and he’s scheduled to be arraigned on July 20.
“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend,” the Warriors said in a statement. “At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”
East Lansing police spokesperson Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth told USA TODAY Sports that officers witnessed an altercation between two men outside an eatery popular after the bars stop serving alcohol at 2 am. “A man was assaulted by Green and was uninjured,” Wrigglesworth said. “Green was arrested and taken to the East Lansing city jail.”
Wrigglesworth added that Green was cooperative during the course of the arrest.
