Wendy Williams caused an uproar last week when she critiqued Jesse Williams’ speech on the 2016 BET Awards. Somehow, the discussion turned to Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Wendy said some pretty harsh things about those schools and the students who decide to attend them.
“On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP,” said Wendy.
B. Scott has confirmed that because of those comments Williams has lost Chevrolet sponsorship on her talk show. She just signed the deal with them back in April.
In order to save face, Wendy has invited one of her biggest critics of the last week, Roland Martin to the show on Thursday. Last week Martin addressed Wendy on his morning news show on TVOne.
“If you actually bothered to read a book and not gossip magazines, you might know these things,” said Roland. “Wendy let me help you out. When you’re on TV and have no idea what you’re talking about, shut the hell up. Don’t open your mouth. Don’t embarrass yourself. Because you sound silly.”
