In a recent interview with Vogue Magazine, Big Sean discusses being a part of Rihanna’s Anti World Tour and the rap legends that influenced his style. Big Sean says he admired Nas, Tupac, Biggie, Jay Z, Pharrell, and Kanye West for their style. During the interview he also spoke about Cam’ron’s all pink era and other iconic looks that impacted Hip Hop fashion as well.
I really liked Nas. I thought his style was really good. Definitely Tupac and Biggie. To this day, I still rock a Rolex ring, obviously I got that from Tupac and Biggie. Also Jay Z, Kanye, and Pharrell too. Growing up, all these guys had an impact on me. I see a version of them in myself today.
Definitely, Cam’ron in the pink was something special. Nas with the clean, minimal look—Carhartt jacket, the NY Timbs, the army green—that was great. Tupac when he wore the Red Wings jersey. Tupac also embraced layering, the leather vests over jerseys. Biggie and Puffy with the suits. All these things left an impression.”
In addition, Big Sean shared some of his favorite brands such as John Elliot, Saint Laurent, Fear of God, and Yeezy. “Obviously, I love Yeezy, Kanye’s clothes are really, really good.” In the interview he also talked about the how his fashion style evolved from his solo project Dark Sky Paradise to his collaborative project Twenty88 with Jhene Aiko.
