Brandy is currently suing her record contract holder Chameleon Entertainment for mishandling her career so much that it’s threatening it as a whole.
In the suit she claims that the record label has jerked her around for the last five years, promising “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in production costs to make her albums and then never actually going through with it.
To add to the situation, the label keeps harassing threatening Brandy with threats trying to pressure her into giving up her non-recorded gigs such as concerts and Broadway shows to entirely focus on music that they don’t even want to produce.
The label is now trying to stop Brandy from making music all together. The Brandy and Chameleon Entertainment law suit is getting so frustrating that Brandy’s lawyer said:
“Brandy Norwood’s story is ‘Kesha Redux, but without the sex.”
That statement might be a little exaggerated but this isn’t fair to Brandy as an artist at all. In the end, all Brandy wants is to be gone from the company or at least the money she was promised to make music.
