At least two people are dead after a shooter opened fire at a nightclub in Fort Meyers, Fla., early Monday morning. The shooting also left 17 people injured with the youngest victim reported as being 12 years old. The nightclub was hosting a teen themed party at the time of the shooting.
Several of the victims were found in the parking lot of the strip mall where the club is located. Police marked dozen of bullet casings outside of the club after the incident. The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m., several people were hit by the spray of bullets, ranging from ages 12-27. Gunfire was reportedly heard less than a mile away from the nightclub. Reports claim that the gunfire was aimed at a home and vehicle in that neighborhood.
So far three suspects have been taken, and police are “actively” seeking more. They were found at a gas station, six miles from where the shooting took place. This shooting comes one month after the tragic massacre in Orlando, Fla.
