The Weeknd is in a very giving mood.
Days after donating 50k to the University of Toronto to kick start they Ethiopic studies program, the Toronto born singer donated 250k to the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Weeknd has been very vocal about where he stands as far as his support for Black Lives Matter goes. Most recently after the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, he tweeted “Enough is enough. it’s time to stand up for this. we can either sit and watch, or do something about it. the time is now. #blacklivesmatter.” He also joined a slew of other celebrities including Beyoncé and Alicia Keys in the Black Lives Matter video campaign last month.
In this world, we know money talks and it’s amazing to see The Weeknd putting his money to good use and supporting causes that are important to him.
