YG & DJ Mustard helped each other get their start with their Just Re’d Up mixtape series and the release of YG’s 2014 debut album My Krazy Life. But the dynamic duo took a break from one another and Mustard was noticeably missing on YG’s Still Krazy.

YG spoke to The Fader in June of 2015 and talked about the estranged relationship between he and his super producer, “I’ve been going through a lot of shit, ups and downs. I fell out with the homies. Like DJ Mustard and all the other homies — it’s why I ain’t got no Mustard beats on my album. I had a daughter, and that’s a good thing. But a couple weeks after I had my daughter, I got shot.”

After his shooting, YG & Mustard made it back into good terms and now, they have linked creatively once again. Announced first by Mustard via social media, the two announced the future release of a joint mixtape titled 400 Summers. YG later confirmed the news via his social media as well.
