Queens, NYC, rapper Bagstheboss reminds us of what we loved about 90’s hip-hop while keeping his music crisp and contemporary.  Born Angelid Melo, to Dominican immigrants, he gained attention from pairings alongside artists like Young Buck and Def Jam’s Gunplay all the while amassing over 150K+ plays on his Soundcloud page.  His latest EP “Young Jesus Christ” has had songs played on Sirius XM, Power 105.1, and blew up on people’s social media and blogs.

You may find yourself stuck when you hear that the chopped and screwed sound of “Right Now (Pull Up)” comes straight from a Dominican cat out of Queens, but this only speaks to the versatility of BagstheBoss. The ode to that on-the-low lover sets the tone for the ritualistic text and drink exchange that proceeds some late night action.

This sultry track compliments the guttural tone of the New York emcee, while the black and white visual (directed by Semper Digital) tells the accompanying story of what we know is about to go down. This track “Right Now” has 30K+ plays, and is available now on iTunes. This track paints the picture of what happens after a late night “You Up?” text. Check it out below and let us know what you think:
