Frank Ocean finally delivered for real this week. Not once, but twice. After dropping his visual album Endless late last week, the elusive singer came through with the official project he’d been promising for literally years, Blonde. (It’s also printed as Blond in other places.) Though he’d announced last year that it would be called Boys Don’t Cry, the name clearly changed – but he did release a limited edition magazine alongside the album with that name.
Frank opened surprise pop-up shops in New York City, London, Chicago and Los Angeles on the day of the release, and offered the magazine along with a hard copy of the album for free. Inside the mag, readers found new photos, poems by Frank, an interview with him and Lil B, a rhyme about McDonald’s from Kanye West and much more. Contributors listed in the credits for the magazine included Ye, Tyler, the Creator, James Blake, A$AP Rocky and more. As for the album, Beyoncé has featured vocals, as does Kendrick Lamar, and Andre 3000 appears for a guest verse.
Below, stream the album via Apple Music and the first music video from the album, “Nikes.”
