The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards took over New York City with an action packed night of performances and winners from today’s biggest musicians. Beyoncé lead nominations with 11 for her album LEMONADE, while Adele followed behind with eight. Just a couple of weeks ago, MTV announced that Rihanna, along with her multiple nominations will receive the 2016 Micheal Jackson Video Vangard Award for her contributions in music videos throughout the last 11 years.

The night belonged to Queen Bey! Not only did she snatched eight out of 11 awards, but Beyoncé made MTV VMA history by surpassing Madonna as the most winning artist of all time. Madonna has a total of 19 VMAs, while Beyoncé now has 21. The other big winners of the night were Calvin Harris, Fifth Harmony and Drake. Check out the full list of winners below.
