The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards was Rihanna’s night as she became the latest recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The Bajan Superstar shut down the VMAs with four mega performances that showed her dynamic versatility over the last 11 years.
After her final set which included “Love On The Brain” and “Stay,” she was then presented with the award by her rumored boyfriend Drake.
“We love the woman who hasn’t changed since day one,” was one of the praises Drizzy bestowed before handing over the award which came with a kiss and a hug. “This is such an amazing moment in my career,” Rihanna told the audience after being presented with the award. “My success started as my dream. And now it’s not my own, it’s family’s, my fans, women, black women … so many people.”
Drake even admitted that he’s been in love with Rihanna for seven years and she is one of his best friends.
