Just when you thought the Obama’s couldn’t get any cooler! President Obama has announced that on Oct. 3 they will be hosting the first White House music festival. Inspired by their keynote speeches at South by Southwest (and of course their love for music!), the festival will be called South by South Lawn.

This past summer both Michelle and Barack released fire playlists that showcased their love for all types of music, including their love for hip hop! The festival is still in the planning stages but we know that Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, and of course Beyoncé are some of the couple’s favorite artists.

SXSL will also include interactive panel discussions and short films from students across the country. You can expect more details to roll out soon! Until then nominations for attendees will be accepted through Sept. 10.
