MIA is about to retire, but she couldn’t just dip on us without giving us one last project. Last night she decided to finally release her fifth album AIM. The project has previously released songs “Go Off” featuring Skrillex, “Freedun” featuring Zayn Malik, and “Bird Song.”
M.I.A. did say that AIM would be her last official album, but she didn’t say that she was quitting music all together. She’s simply taking time out to focus on other endeavors:
“It’s my last record so I wanted it to be happy… I wanna go and do some other stuff and take some time out. I came out of a relationship and I had all of this time on my hands and nothing to do. This record kind of become that. It was just sort of me finding myself again and coming to terms with what your life is.”
Be sure to soak in and appreciate all this new M.I.A. because we probably won’t be hearing any new tunes from her for a while. Be sure to cop AIM on iTunes here or stream it below via Spotify.
