Keith Lamont Scott age 43 has died after being shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer on Sept. 20. Police claim they were searching for a person in the University area who had outstanding warrants when they saw a person leave a vehicle with a gun.
According to police reports, Scott, who was not the subject of the search, then returned to his vehicle. When approached by officers, they claim he “posed an imminent deadly threat” to authorities and Officer Brentley Vinson opened fire. The victim’s daughter was told by an eyewitness that a taser was used on Scott and then he was shot at least three times.
Scott was then rushed to Carolina Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Scott’s brother said he was holding a book and was waiting for his son to get dropped off after school. His daughter recorded live from the scene after finding out the news. watched that video below.
