On Wednesday, Charlotte residents held a peaceful protest uptown that turned violent when 26-year-old Justin Carr was shot in the head by an unknown attacker. Many eyewitnesses -including a group of pastors and clergy claim that Carr was shot by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. The city of Charlotte has denied this claim and said that the shooting was civilian on civilian.

Late Thursday night, Carr died as a result of his injuries. While a suspect hasn’t been arrested yet, a homicide investigation has been launched by CMPD.
