Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is now eligible to sign with any team in the NFL. If any team actually wants him.
If you don’t know the full story, Manziel was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. Only a few months before that, he was dropped from the team after a domestic violence incident with his ex-girlfriend. This ultimately led him to a summer full of bad choices.
Despite these few bumps in the road Manziel seems to be ready to get back to the game. He is no longer suspended, and looking for a new team. Since the 23-year-old has only been in the NFL for two seasons, he is eligible for a practice squad exception and could sign for as little as $6,900 a week. Ouch.
